Residents’ views boost Carehome.co.uk score

Feedback from our residents and families has increased our overall score on the national public review site Carehome.co.uk to 9.9 out of ten*.

Moving up a notch from 9.8, our previous score for the past two years, helps to reinforce our status as the UK’s highest rated care home provider for our size. Carehome.co.uk is a public website that features independent reviews by residents and families for services in more than 18,000 care homes across the UK.

Ratings reflect feedback on the overall standard of care and support. Quality factors include staff, management, rooms, facilities, food and drink, cleanliness, being treated with dignity, the activities on offer, safety and security, and the value for money a home demonstrates.

There are currently 1,219 reviews about our 21 homes. Four of them have the maximum ten out of ten rating: Bourne View, Belmore Lodge, Whitecliffe House and Kingfishers. Bourne View’s case is exceptional as it has scored ten out of ten for all possible criteria, an extremely rare outcome reached by only a tiny handful of homes nationally.

Eight of our homes are on 9.9* – St Catherines View, Newstone House, Brook View, The Aldbury, Fernhill, Abbotts Barton, Castle View and Woodpeckers. Seven others are rated at 9.8*, with two on 9.7*. Our increased group score follows two successive years of being a ‘Top 20 Care Home Group’ on Carehome.co.uk.

It also comes just weeks after we celebrated our sixth Outstanding rating from the care sector regulator, the Care Quality Commission. That success for Fernhill followed Outstanding CQC ratings for Amberwood House, Linden House, Woodpeckers, Canford Chase and Kingfishers.

Based on what Carehome.co.uk and CQC say about us, we are now consistently being seen as one of the top care home groups in the UK.
