Realising ambitions

Welcome to our winter edition which has a number of stories on the theme of realising ambitions. For example, we highlight how our Court Lodge team enabled resident Joan Mackay to achieve her long-held wish to fly high in a balloon. We also talk about ambitions for our forthcoming home in Chichester and our office hub in Ringwood.

Winning an award is another ambition for many people. At our recent team conference we had the pleasure of announcing four finalists for the National Care Awards, an excellent achievement. Congratulations to Linda Brownlie, Carol Martin, Sohail Daniel, Janie Pearman and all our other nominees. We’ll report on the finals themselves in our next edition.

We have recently achieved our ambition to launch a twice-yearly sister publication to the Colten Chronicle looking at the clinical side of our care services for residents and their relatives. You can find copies of Talking Care in our foyers and as a pdf at

We have also just launched individual quarterly newsletters from each of our homes. These are designed to give a perspective of life in the home over the last quarter and what to look forward to. They complement information on our homes’ microsites. If you are not already on the email list and would like to be, please speak with your Home Manager.

I hope you enjoy reading our winter Chronicle. As ever, if you have any feedback or know of a story we’ve missed, please tell us at
