Forget Brian May at Buckingham Palace, the best place to hear a resounding God Save the Queen was Bourne View in Poole, courtesy of Companionship Team member and lead guitarist Sam Hurst.
As a heartfelt video tribute to the Queen, we brought together residents from three of our homes for a special recording at Bourne View in Poole. Arranged by our Music & Arts Partner Fiona Pritchard, it opens with Sam Hurst, an amazing guitarist and member of the Companionship team at Newstone House, playing a rock version of God Save the Queen on the roof, Brian May-style. The film then shows flag-waving residents singing Jerusalem along with trained opera singer Chloe Akam, Companionship Team Leader at Avon Reach. You can watch the film on our YouTube channel where it rapidly gained views during and after the Jubilee weekend.
