A busy and imaginative year of charity events, led by our residents and staff, has raised a record-breaking £40,000 for good causes.
The huge total compares with around £32,000 collected in the previous 12 months.
A wide range of charities – local, national and international – have been helped under our policy of linking activities programmes with community fundraising.
In the most successful single initiative, our three Lymington homes came together for BBC Children in Need, raising more than £8,200 in the space of a fortnight. Residents and team members took part in a stationary bike challenge, while a photo competition prompted people to send in snaps of one of our minibuses, decorated Pudsey-style, going out and about.
Activities Manager Jo London said: “Our residents and team members really value being part of the community and doing their bit for worthy causes. Our activities organisers, social carers and other team members enable residents to contribute directly in meaningful ways, such as making arts and crafts to sell at fundraising fetes and taking part in sponsored activities.
“Well done to everyone for an absolutely brilliant, record-breaking 12 months.”
