Wellington Grange, our first Sussex home, will be available for viewing from early February 2016.
The 72-bed building, with an interior design reflecting local ‘Chichester attributes’, is due to begin welcoming residents in April.
Community healthcare professionals and members of the public will be able to see inside on two dedicated open days during the same month.
We anticipate occupancy rising with up to three new residents a week once the doors are open.
As the final touches of construction work are put in place, the focus will increasingly move from the architecturally impressive exterior to the interior fit-out and design features.
Georgina Colwell, Head of Design, has been busy with the intensive ordering of furniture, fabrics, carpets, lighting and other features.
Georgina said: “We are working on the ‘dressing’ of the home, with hundreds of pictures, flowers, lamps and ornaments that complete the design and transform the building into a home.”
Ideas for the design were informed by a survey of local residents on how best to reflect attributes of Chichester.
“This gave us some great quotes to work to for creating the feel of the home,” explained Georgina. “We have given each of those rooms a very clear identity, to produce a vibrant and stimulating interior.”
