Musical ‘premiere’ is on song

Residents from three of our homes were treated to a VIP musical ‘premiere’ at Ringwood Parish Church.

Parties from Fernhill in Ferndown, The Aldbury in Poole and Brook View in West Moors attended the dress rehearsal of an Aurum Vocale concert ahead of a public performance on the same evening.

After a reception of champagne with strawberries and cream, residents listened enraptured as performers from well-known ensembles including the Gabrieli Consort, Monteverdi Choir and the BBC Singers performed works by Byrd, Tallis, Vaughan-Williams and Britten.

Karen Grant A’Court, Fernhill Activities Organiser, said: “Sitting in the church listening to all those beautiful voices was an absolute treat for us all and many people who attended are still talking about it. Our residents adore music, especially when it is sung live and they often respond very emotionally to it.

“To be given the opportunity to hear the singers perform before anyone else was a real privilege.”

The concert was promoted and staged by The Friends of Ringwood Parish Church with our support.
