Not even the Covid-19 outbreak could stop the smiles when the staff and residents of Kingfishers in New Milton learned it had retained its Outstanding rating.

The success means the home continues to be rated among the top four per cent of all the nursing homes in England.

News of the retained rating came as Kingfishers began observing movement and social distancing restrictions to keep people safe from the virus risk.

Home Manager Beata Brzozowska said: “The rating is both fitting and well-deserved for the team. I am impressed every day by the depth of their professionalism and kindness. The measures in place to protect all our residents during the Covid-19 outbreak meant we weren’t able to celebrate this in quite the way we usually would.

“But you can rest assured that the staff team and our residents are thrilled and we raised a glass to our success.”

Elaine Farrer, Operations Director, said: “It’s a huge accomplishment to be awarded an outstanding rating from the CQC.

“To be able to maintain and build upon those standards and retain that rating for a second time is a testament to the incredible hard work and commitment of the whole team.”
