Four years on from joining us as a nurse, Jess Archer has been promoted to Home Manager at Whitecliffe House.
Our Blandford home is where she began her Colten career, having completed her training at Bournemouth General Hospital with a stint in orthopaedics at Queen Alexandra in Portsmouth.
Jess, thinking about a move into older people’s care, came to us after hearing of our great reputation from district nurses she was working with.
She has recently been peripatetic at Colten and is moving up from her latest post as Clinical Lead and Interim Home Manager at Avon Cliff in Bournemouth.
“I’ve learned such a lot and I know that Whitecliffe will be a wonderful home to manage,” says Jess. “It’s great to be back.”
No stranger to challenges, with two London marathons under her belt, Jess is determined to build on the home’s success.
“My aim is to lead the team so that we get an Outstanding rating at our next CQC inspection,” she says.
Aside from marathon running, Bournemouth-born Jess is training for a nine-day trek along the Great Wall of China in October in aid of Kidney Research.
Jess’s return to Whitecliffe means residents and staff have the chance to become reacquainted with her friendly shih tzu Lady, a popular visitor as a puppy when Jess was still nursing.
