Keeping our online presence both competitive and engaging is a key focus for busy marketing recruit – and triathlon contender – Jamie Hanlon. Based at Colten House in Ringwood, our new Digital Marketing Executive is responsible for managing content across our website, social media and other online channels.
Jamie says a mix of strategic and hands-on input is needed to ensure our online marketing materials are well maintained, easy to access and up to date with valuable information for our users.
“It’s all about getting the Colten Care name out there more strongly on digital platforms,” he explains. “An important aspect is making the website perform well in response to queries and improving its role as a showcase for what we do.”
Jamie has the rare distinction of being both a marketing graduate and a registered nurse. Born and bred in south London, he completed his marketing degree at Bournemouth University 15 years ago and has stayed in Dorset ever since.
His nursing background includes a two-year stint as a medical respiratory nurse at Poole Hospital and he also worked for a care services company, providing medical staff for public events. “We supplied critical care doctors, paramedics, nurses and first-aiders for everything from music festivals and big sports events, right down to village duck races,” said Jamie.
As well as settling into his new role with us, Jamie is training for an Iron Man triathlon challenge in Weymouth next year. It involves 2km of swimming, 100km of cycling and running a half-marathon.
