Debs Wiltshire is the new Home Manager at Newstone House, replacing Sohail Daniel who has taken up the reins of our latest home, Bourne View in Poole.
Debs has extensive care experience, including being a district nurse and a lecturer in nursing at Anglia Ruskin University in her native Cambridge.
“I really wanted to run a care home,” she says. “When I came and looked round Newstone House, I was very moved by the quality, the people and everything that Colten stands for. I’d never come across that before. I feel so excited and incredibly proud to be here.”
Debs says her short term goal is to get to know everyone, adding: “Then, at our next CQC inspection, I want us to be officially declared Outstanding.
“Certainly, Sohail has built a team to enable us to achieve that.”
In her spare time over the past ten years, Debs has been writing a children’s book featuring her own poems and illustrations.
“It’s for my grandchildren really,” she adds. “But once it’s finished, if I don’t find a publisher, I’ll publish it myself.”
