Chris Lee has a clear goal in mind for his new role as Home Manager at our Blandford home Whitecliffe House.
“It’s all about ensuring our residents receive the highest quality of care,” he says. “I want us to be one of the best homes there can be. We’re working as a team and I already see many positive signs that we’re on the way.”
Yorkshireman Chris was most recently with another care home provider and before that he was an inspector and inspection manager with the care sector regulator the Care Quality Commission. He has also worked in the charity sector, providing independent advocacy services for adults with learning disabilities in London and Hampshire.
Whitecliffe House has already made a great impression on Chris. “It’s fantastic, a really lovely home with a nice atmosphere and a proper homely feel. Its strapline of ‘character and conversation’ sums it up.”
Because of his CQC experience, Chris says he had learned quite a lot about Colten Care before he arrived, adding: “I knew it had a very good reputation, with a number of homes rated Outstanding. It was the kind of provider I wanted to work for, with the right size and ethos.”
Chris lives near Dorchester with his wife and two daughters. His hobbies include antiques, furniture restoration, classic cars and DIY. “I love fixing and repairing things, and doing physical labour. It’s a total opposite to the day job,” he says.
