Champions rewarded at our inaugural awards

Welcome to our bumper summer edition which includes a big focus on our inaugural Colten Champions awards.

We are an organisation full of successful people who are worthy of recognition for the amazing work they do. It was such an honour to be at the awards ceremony among so many colleagues who truly embody our core values of being friendly, kind, individual, reassuring and honest.

We also highlight our dedicated campaign to cut down on the use of avoidable plastic at our homes. This is something our residents, families and staff feel very strongly about and is a highly positive way we can help both the planet and the immediate communities we serve.

In a further story, on the CQC inspection of our newest home, Wellington Grange in Chichester, we can now report that all our homes are either Outstanding or Good. This is a fabulous achievement, especially given that – unlike many other operators – all 20 of our homes are registered for nursing care and we have four dedicated dementia care homes.

The CQC findings reflect our very strong average rating of 9.8 out of ten on the independent review site, the highest of any UK care group with ten or more homes. Such third-party recognition, from our residents, their relatives and our regulator, was part of what prompted us to launch Colten Champions as a way of rewarding and celebrating our team’s work.

I hope you enjoy the summer Chronicle. You can receive more information on individual homes by joining the mailing list for our quarterly community newsletters.
